See-saw, Margery Daw,
Jack shall have a new master;
He shall have but a penny a day
Because he can't work any faster.

So, what is a daw? A Jack Daw? A European bird of the Crow family (Corvus monedula), often nesting in church towers and ruins, and noted for thievery; a jackdaw, having black plumage with a gray nape and underparts.
There are other Margery Daw rhymes, but we will just stick with this one!
